Essential Responsibilities

General Housekeeping

The Housekeeper/Cleaning person will have a general knowledge of housekeeping and be expected to vacuum, sweep, and dust clean offices, restrooms, classrooms, kitchen area, sensory room, multi-purpose room, conference room and laundry room. Clean all windowsills, windows between kitchen and multi-purpose room. Notify Office Manager when supplies are needed. Occasionally do specific cleaning as requested by the Office Manager or Program Coordinator.

Essential Competencies

Strength/Dexterity/Stamina: The ability to lift, push, pull, manipulate, carry or assemble objects. The ability to bend, stretch, twist, reach, or quickly move your body, arms, and/or legs.

Performing General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Handling and Moving Objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.

Controlling Machines and Processes: Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers).

Equipment Selection: Determining the kind of equipment needed to do a job.

Customer and Personal Service: This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Establishes and maintains an appropriate rapport with internal customers, supervisors and peers.

Results/Outcome Orientation: Can be counted on to take pride in work and meet or exceed department expectations.

Work Habits: Maintains punctuality/maintains attendance; manages time well; follows through dependably; able to be flexible and adaptable to change, cooperates with others.
