Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in New York requiring a current NY RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department
• Patient ratios are 1:5 with mixed acuity levels
• Evening shifts, 3x12 hours from 15:00 to 03:00
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other units is required based on census
• Uses Epic for charting and EMR
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates who have worked at the facility within the past year are not eligible
• Minimal time off requests are preferred
• Scrub attire is any combination of navy and white
• Pre-employment modules are required and must be completed prior to start
• Call-off policy allows for up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Experience with Epic EMR is required
• Proficiency in emergency nursing skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting IVs, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, stroke care, and isolation precautions
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
