Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Portland, OR 97239 (Oregon healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Magnet Teaching Hospital
• Unit: 8N Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), 20 beds
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Critical Care
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 28, 2025
• End Date: January 27, 2026
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts/week (19:00 - 07:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Floating: Required to NICU and Pediatric Units
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrubs: Provided for OR
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1950–$2090/week

PICU RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU RN experience (post-op heart experience required)
• Active Registered Nurse license (Oregon RN license or pending application accepted)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required; NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Ability to float to NICU and Pediatric Units
• Professional references required
• First-time travel nurses accepted with required experience

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients (trauma, cardiac, surgical, neurologic cases)
• Assist with bedside procedures: central/arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubations/extubations, CRRT, ECMO, chest exploration, and emergent operative procedures
• Operate advanced clinical equipment: Hamilton G5 Ventilators, DirectLink ICP Monitors, Artic Sun Targeted Temperature Management, Baxter Prismaflex Machines
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team (intensivists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, and more)
• Float as needed to NICU and other pediatric units
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in ongoing education and orientation (24 hours provided)
