Food Cashier

Cashier Position at Corewell Health

Performs cashiering and food services duties necessary to provide five-star service to all customers. Maintains accurate and appropriate cash handling functions. Meets sanitation and safety standards in serving, storage and dining areas. Provides excellent patient and family centered care and services as it relates to the Beaumont Standards.

Essential Functions

1. Accurately and quickly rings sales and makes change according to cash handling policies and procedures. Reports variances and concerns to leader/supervisor.
2. Re-stocks and maintains displays to department standards. Rotates product using FIFO. Cleans and sanitizes work area and displays to department standards.
3. Takes customer's orders and assists with selections. Serves and samples food per department guidelines. Able to identify customers in need of assistance and respectfully and tactfully assist.
4. Identifies and communicates opportunities for waste reduction, service improvements and/or revenue enhancement to leadership per established guidelines.

Qualifications

• Required

• Must be able to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English. Basic math skills, ability to make change.

Preferred

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Cash handling and food service experience.
