Job Description

Bargaining Unit Members interested in the vacant position shall make their interest known to the Human Resources Department on or before October 24, 2025. Non-members, such as existing part-time and/or temporary employees, may make their interest known during the open period but Employer will not entertain non-member applicants before October 25, 2025. This position also works closely with the public and other Township Departments gathering information and solving problems to meet the needs of our customers.

Examples Of Duties

• Performs clerical duties including typing, filing, and completion of simple forms.
• Operates office machines including copiers, scanners, phone and voicemail systems, personal computers, and other standard office equipment.
• Assists the public, by phone and in person by serving as the initial point of contact for general questions, and forward beyond their scope to the proper department.
• Operates a computer to compile data and generate required reports.
• Maintains files and filing systems in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Transfers information from reports, files, and other documents into prepared master code sheets, ledgers, journals, and other recordkeeping systems.
• Prepares letters, memos, forms, and reports according to written or verbal instructions.
• Processes accounts payable.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

• Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A minimum of one-year experience of clerical experience.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to multitask and problem solve.
• A Michigan Vehicle Driver's License.
• Desired Qualifications: Experience in a Municipality government.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and communicate with others in person, by phone and/or through electronic devices and review and produce written and electronic documents. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items of light weight. Employee will be required to sit for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee typically works in a business office setting and is expected to dress in compliance with the Township dress code. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
