Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 22 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is preferred from any number of months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• • Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required after submission).
• • This role will require floating to multiple units
• • Local & travel allowed.
• Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• • Flu vaccination required for submission.
• Medical declinations accepted.
• Pre-employment modules may be required for this role.

Additional Details:

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

Previous Employment Requirements: Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: The most common diagnoses include all subtypes of the following:

• Breast Cancer

• Lung Cancer

• Prostate Cancer

• Pancreatic Cancer

• Colon Cancer

• Esophageal Cancer

• Encounter for antineoplastic chemotherapy

Cares for all solid tumor cancers throughout the spectrum of their cancer journey; from new diagnosis, through treatment, and also assisting with transition to end of life care.

Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls

Cares for patients that have true med surg issues

Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics

Equipment Used on Unit: B450 monitors GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds

Shift & Scheduling: Block Schedules: No

Weekends: Variable based on unit needs

No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff

Self-Schedule Requests: You will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule

Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 Request

RTO required with submission, must be built into contract

Floating Requirements: Floating required to other MedSurg Oncology units

Details:

• AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: Please request an interview for one match from this facility at a time. You will not interview with the hiring manager if the facility chooses to extend an offer to you for this position. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
