Warehouse Worker

The Warehouse Worker procures and assists internal and external customers with their material needs across City departments. Responsibilities include purchasing, stock control, storage, distribution, and receipt of inventory. This position works four (4) 10-hour days with one (1) day off during the week and every Saturday and Sunday. In the rare event of major system damage, this position would be required to work shifts to ensure parts are available.

Starting Salary: $16.30 $17.83 (contingent on experience)

This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

About this Position

The Warehouse Worker procures and assists internal and external customers with their material needs across City departments. Responsibilities include purchasing, stock control, storage, distribution, and receipt of inventory. In the rare event of major system damage, this position would be required to work shifts to ensure parts are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier

Responsibilities

• Obtain a valid Forklift Certification within sixty (60) days of hire
• Control inventory of construction and maintenance material, utilizing a forklift/reach truck on a frequent basis
• Receive, store, catalogue, inventory, and safeguard materials
• Maintain inventory software to preclude material shortages and overages
• Maintain a well-organized, clean, and safe environment
• Assist with purchasing materials and checking inventory accuracy
• Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with designing and implementing work methods and procedures

Necessary Skills

• Ability to learn and utilize warehouse software (i.e. Storeroom)
• Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
• Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings
