Position Summary

As a Labor and Delivery nurse you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care in the, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC Brighton nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.

Job Requirements

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Certification in basic life support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire (offered during orientation).
• Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advance Certification required within 8 weeks of hire. 1 year experience Labor and Delivery required.
• Experience with electronic health record preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language a plus.
