Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on night shifts, requiring an active IL RN license and Epic charting experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is on a 36-bed med/surg/ortho unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes general med/surg and orthopedic cases
- Patient ratio is typically 6:1
- Twelve-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
- Requires working every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Float to ED/ICU as needed for medical holds only
- Epic EMR experience is required
- No on-call or call back responsibilities
- Navy blue scrubs are required for this assignment
- Must be social and able to communicate effectively with the team
- Holiday coverage may be required depending on unit closures
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required at this time but is subject to change
- First time travelers are accepted for this position
Requirements
- Active IL RN license (no pending or temporary licenses)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience required
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Confident and independent nursing skills
- Must be a hard worker, resilient, and adaptable to change
- Candidates must reside outside a 40-mile radius from the facility
