Material Handler

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Sheetfed Material Handler

will assist with the sheetfed press to facilitate non-stop operation.

Schedule: 6pm-6am on a rotating schedule.

Essential Functions:
Organize production and supporting materials such as paper, ink and plates.
Assist with daily, weekly and monthly press maintenance.
Lifting and stacking pallets, cardboard and printed materials.
Operate hand-jacks, forklifts or other similar equipment to move materials from shipping, receiving and staging areas to and from the press
Assist in plate/blanket replacement
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following all procedures, rules, and regulations
Other assigned duties as required by management
Qualifications:

Ability to operate hand jacks and forklifts.
Ability to follow and carry out instruction with excellent attention to detail
Positive and professional interpersonal skills required
Effective oral and written communication
Education

High school diploma or GED
Previous experience in shipping/and or supply chain systems within a warehouse environment preferred
Other Requirements:

Must have the ability to read, write and effectively communicate with crew members and other employees in the manufacturing/warehouse areas.

Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100 lbs.

Sense of Sound

Work Environment:

While performing Essential Duties and Responsibilities of this job, the employee will be required to work near moving or mechanical equipment.
