MetaSense, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Pompton Plains, New Jersey.

Per diem position. MUST BE A LOCAL CANDIDATE AS HOURS ARE NOT GUARANTEED.
MUST BE ABLE TO COMMIT UP TO 3 SHIFTS PER WEEK.
Has competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric and delivers patient care appropriately. Performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept. Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit. Demonstrates knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient’s progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient’s chart including patient education.
Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and is able to identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
Consistently responds to patient’s/families and co-workers in a professional, courteous, positive manner to promotes an environment where the patient and family is at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goal and objectives. Unit Specific Job Function. Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered for surgical patient’s. Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care. Contributes to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing the care of patient’s depending on their needs and any changes in their condition.
Assesses patient’s understanding of surgical procedure/instructions, actively including the patient and family members in teaching. Duties Specific to PAT RN. Supports the completion of patient testing in a timely manner. Evaluates Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and for potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.
1 year hospital acute care exp - Required
RN License - Required
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Associates or Bachelor’s Degree - Preferred
