Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PTA for Home Health with BLS certification and strong assessment skills for a travel role covering a wide territory.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Home Health setting with territory coverage of 40-80 miles
• Caseload ratio averages 1:6
• Day shifts, 5x8 hours, 8:00 to 17:00
• No weekend shifts required
• Charting is done using EPIC EMR, and experience with EPIC is required
• Mileage is reimbursed at $0.55 per mile
• Candidates must float within service line if needed
• Role involves collaborating closely with PT and providing patient/family education, performing assessment and reassessment, ordering supplies, and scheduling appointments
• Milage reimbursed for patient visits over a large geographic territory
• Professional dress code; any color/style of scrub allowed as long as appearance is clean and professional
• Return staff policy requires permanent employees to wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week
• Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing if required
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius

Requirements

• Current state PTA license is required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a PTA, including previous home care experience
• Current BLS certification is required
• Skills in cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, orthopedics, Med Surg, adaptive and assistive devices, pain assessment, and patient-family education
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, communication, and time management skills
• EPIC charting experience required
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
