RN Case Manager (Registered Nurse Case Manager)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures
• Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for healthcare staff
• Conduct surveillance activities to identify any potential sources of infection
• Monitor and review infection control practices to ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards
• Advise on the use of personal protective equipment for staff and visitors
• Monitor infection rates within the healthcare setting and report any trends
• Investigate any reported cases of infection and provide advice on prevention and control measures
• Respond to and manage any incidents of infection in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Liaise with public health authorities and other organizations in relation to infection control

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

• At least 3 years of experience as an RN with clinical experience in infection control.
• Permanent, current, full and unrestricted license to practice a Registered Nurse in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. 
• Certified in infection control with a comprehensive knowledge of infection control principles and practices.
• Ability to obtain an IHS public trust clearance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Possess the proficiency to accurately and appropriately utilize E-mail, and enter/retrieve patient data in any and all EHR clinical application packages pertinent to the services being performed.
• Shall complete in a timely fashion the medical and other required records for patients. Chart notes are to be completed on the day services are rendered.
• Be clean and neat in appearance and comply with the Services Unit dress code for RN’s and present themselves in a professional manner
• Shall be sensitive to the Cultural aspects of Native American Indians in providing care to patients.
• Shall speak, understand, read and write English fluently and communicate with sufficient clarity to be understood by IHS personnel and patients.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Provide immunization records as proof of immunity or disease before the performance of work.

Salary/Compensation: $34.00 - $70.00 per hour
