Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager for Transportation Alternative Delivery Projects to join our dynamic team.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the delivery of complex transportation, structures and roadway projects using alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, Public-Private Partnerships (P3), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC), Progressive Design Build (PDB) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to KCI quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation. Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders. Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables meet KCI quality standards and client expectations. Implement KCI quality control processes and conduct regular inspections.
  • Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial targets are met. Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance and support to team members.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. Maintain accurate project documentation and records

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on alternative delivery methods for transportation projects.
  • Significant design experience on alternative delivery or design build for transportation projects is required
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale transportation projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of Design-Build, P3, CMGC, PDB and/or IPD methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

Qualifications

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 6 years of related professional experience, or 10 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience should include a track record of expanding project management duties.
  • Proven experience in project management roles, with a focus on managing larger-scale projects or programs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Master's Degree in related field (AEC Industry)

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Successful completion of the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board (for current employees) or ability to complete within six months (for new hires.)
