Software Engineer

Contribute to the development of innovative software solutions for railway systems. You will be part of a collaborative team working across the full software development lifecyclefrom requirements analysis and architecture design to coding, testing, and deployment support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing software requirements and designing system architecture.
• Write clean, maintainable code and develop unit tests.
• Contribute to technical documentation.
• Support software integration and verification testing, collaborating with the IVVQ team.
• Help monitor deployments and provide support for new features and updates.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery of software solutions.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of programming.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot and/or Spring Batch.
• Basic experience with Docker and containerized environments.
• Exposure to Agile/SCRUM methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
• Basic UI development knowledge.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and message-oriented middleware.

Work Environment

Hybrid work environment - 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
