Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute inpatient or rehab experience to join an inpatient rehab therapy team using Epic EMR.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute inpatient rehab therapy setting with some swing bed coverage
• Daily caseload typically includes 8 to 10 patients, managed by one therapist per day
• Patient population includes ortho-total joints, neuro-strokes, occasional brain injuries, medical, and general ICU
• Expectation to float to a nearby medical center when census is low
• EPIC charting system is used
• Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts from 08:30 to 17:00
• May need to work holidays as required
• Main responsibilities include providing therapeutic services to patients with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery
• Must be prepared to float to another facility if needed based on census
• Scrubs are permitted but must not match the color of other departments; a list of approved colors will be provided upon hire
• Team is supported by a manager, no COTAs or Rehab Aides on staff
• First-time travelers are welcome for consideration
• Orientation typically lasts 2-3 days in the department and is structured during regular weekday hours

Requirements

• Current Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of OT experience, specifically in acute inpatient or rehab settings
• Current BLS certification required
• Comfortable working independently with daily patient caseload
• Compliance with a 50-mile radius rule from the facility based on permanent address
