Requirements

Active RN License
Degree from accredited nursing program
BLS Certification
Eighteen months of recent experience in an Interventional Radiology setting
Other requirements to be determined by the client facility

Duties & Responsibilities

Interventional Radiology Nurses (RN) provide critical nursing care to cardiac patients while assisting the Interventional Radiologist, Vascular Surgeon, and Endovascular Neurosurgeon in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Prepare patients for procedures.
Provide education to patients and family members.
Insert and remove intravenous lines.
Administer medications including moderate sedation.
Monitor patient patterns and vital signs during procedures.
Oversee safety and comfort of the patient before, during, and after procedures.
Provide post-procedure monitoring.
