Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Geneva, NY 14456 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN, Full-Time
• Start Date: November 3, 2025
• End Date: March 7, 2026
• Duration: 18-week contract
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Shift: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; every other weekend; holidays required; 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1830–$1960

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for New York nursing jobs)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or RQI only, required)
• NIHSS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with diverse medical conditions
• Assess patient and family needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Deliver direct patient care, monitor patient progress, and modify care plans as needed
• Educate patients and families on self-care, lifestyle modifications, and post-discharge instructions
• Promote a safe, healing environment by offering emotional support and advocating for patient safety and rights
• Administer medications and perform clinical interventions according to best nursing practices
• Accurately document patient care, education, and responses in the electronic medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
