Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a current CA license and strong skills in evidence-based practice and critical care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
• Provides care for a diverse emergency patient population
• Shift options include 3x12 days (0700-1930) or nights (1900-0730) with required weekend rotation
• No on-call responsibilities
• Performs clinical procedures such as IV insertion, Foley catheterization, wound dressings, and safe medication administration
• Utilizes tele monitoring, IV equipment, and ventilators as appropriate
• Responsible for thorough and accurate assessment and documentation
• Provides effective patient and family education
• Expected to model safety behaviors and report errors or near misses
• Acts as a patient advocate and works both independently and with a team
• Must maintain a professional appearance and accept feedback constructively
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• Only one holiday will be approved for time off during the assignment

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
• Must meet 50 mile radius rule for eligibility
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 1 year to be considered
