Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a CO or compact license and at least one year of recent OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a general surgery operating room setting
• Typical patient population includes surgical patients requiring perioperative care
• Day shifts are 12 hours from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, three days per week
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
• On-call responsibilities may be required during regularly scheduled shifts
• Uses Epic EMR for charting; prior Epic experience required or preferred
• Responsibilities include independent and delegated nursing functions according to state Board of Nursing standards
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates comprehensive nursing care for surgical patients
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and may supervise or delegate as needed
• Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the employing health system
• Compliance with all hospital and regulatory documentation and care standards is required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Allow at least two weeks for background check and drug screen processing; timely completion of requirements is essential

Requirements

• Active CO or compact state RN license required at the time of consideration
• Completion of an accredited ASN nursing program required; BSN preferred
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; all certifications must be valid through assignment start
• Minimum one year recent experience in the operating room specialty required
• Experience with Epic charting system required or preferred
