Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to provide support to leadership and to create an atmosphere that provides continuity of quality patient care in the emergent hospital environment. Learning to ensure all aspects of the hospital are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.

Essential Job Functions

1. Assists with all functional aspects of overseeing the hospital including Nursing, Lab, Radiology, Pharmacy, Respiratory, Front Office and Dietary.
2. Supports senior leadership during facility inspections by licensing and accrediting agencies.
3. Evaluates and addresses the educational needs of the market.
4. Assists with planning and implementation of new service lines.
5. Assists with oversight of Inpatient Lead / Preceptor in the facility.
6. Assists with marketing and external relationships to drive facility volume.
7. Assists in the implementation of the quality management system.
8. Assists with process improvement activities and corrective action plans in the facility.
9. Responsible for interim coverage of vacant or absent leadership positions within the region
10. Assists with ensuring all functional areas are fully staffed with continuous coverage.
11. Assists with new clinical orientation, including preceptor management.
12. Assists with new and continued education and following up with staff.
13. Responsible for covering a minimum of two 12-hour clinical shifts weekly per Hospital Administrator direction.

Other Job Functions

• Monitors facility quality indicators and supports development of resolution plans by working closely with regional and corporate functions such as safety and infection control.
• Complies with all established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Attends staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
• Supports Hospital Administrator with fiscal accountability through scheduling and ordering supplies.
• Travels to all facility locations as required.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate degree, required; BSN, preferred
• 5+ years total nursing experience, required
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required
• 2+ years Emergency Department, Critical Care or PCU experience in an acute care hospital, required
• 2+ years supervisory experience in a healthcare setting, preferred
• Knowledge of JCAHO or DNV standards, required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red cross, required ENPC certification from ENA may be substituted for PALS certification
• Experience with high acuity, ICU Medical/Surgical patients, preferred
• Completion of FEMA ICS 100, ICS 200, ICS 700, and ICS 800 within 60 days of hire
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
