Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position in California requiring a current CA RN license and at least three years of ER experience in a large academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Weekend shifts are required as needed by the department
• No floating required outside the ER, but possible floating within the hospital based on census
• Uses Epic for electronic documentation
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 3-5 years of ER experience
• Mandatory Epic training is provided pre-start and takes approximately 8 hours to complete
• Modules and training are completed before starting and during orientation
• Holiday time off requests will not be accepted for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
• A maximum of 5 days of pre-approved time off is allowed and must be requested at submission
• Locals are accepted at the local rate if residing within 50 miles

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand required
• Minimum of three years ER experience, preferably in a large academic facility
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Recent travel nursing experience required
• Reference from within the past two years required
• Must have no Nursys hits or history of previous permanent employment at the facility
