Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring an OH or compact RN license, advanced cardiac skills, and Epic experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Care for critically ill cardiac patients with estimated nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2
• Day and night shifts available: 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am, 36 hours per week
• Schedule includes weekdays, some weekends (up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week period), and rotating holidays
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Utilizes the Epic electronic medical record system; Epic experience required
• Responsibilities include advanced cardiac care, use of specialized equipment, and managing critical patients
• Team-oriented environment with support from experienced cardiac ICU staff
• RTO (requested time off) must be included with application and built into contract
• Former employees are eligible if separated for at least 6 months; current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are not eligible for travel assignments
• Urgent completion of Ohio fingerprinting process is required upon offer
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as non-local candidates

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program required
• Two years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, ventilators, Swan-Ganz catheters, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and pulmonary artery lines required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Two professional references required, one from a manager or supervisor
