Job Description

Under general supervision, the Computed Tomography Technologist performs all CT procedures, operating equipment to obtain quality diagnostic images. The role includes preparing examination areas, positioning patients, and adjusting imaging equipment for correct settings. This position assists physicians during examinations and ensures compliance with safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the examination area and position patients for procedures.
• Set up and manipulate computed tomography, data processing, and ancillary equipment.
• Calculate and select proper techniques and protocols while adhering to ALARA principles.
• Assist physicians during procedures, including the administration of contrast materials and medications.
• Transfer image data to PACS and V-RAD environments for physician review.
• Maintain records and files in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the work area while keeping it stocked.
• Draw blood and introduce IVs according to established protocols.
• Assist in scheduling and managing the flow of CT examinations.
• Instruct radiologic technology students and ancillary personnel in CT equipment operation and theory.
• Perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, relaying messages, and scheduling patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience or 1 year in Computed Tomography is required.
• Active certifications must be maintained at the time of submission.
