Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift PACU position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring critical care skills and a MO or compact RN license.

Responsibilities
Position is in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital
Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
Unit includes 38 patient bays and manages an average daily census of 70-90 patients
Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatrics; cases include neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant
No recovery of open heart surgeries or liver transplants
Float required within service line or to affiliate hospitals as needed
EPIC is used for charting and prior experience is required
Scrub color is navy blue
Responsible for recovery of surgical patients who may require artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive drugs
The unit has dedicated Patient Care Technician and transport team support and operates 24/7
Night shift RNs will be required to learn preoperative patient assessments
Modules must be completed prior to start as part of required orientation
No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) allowed per 13-week contract; no RTO allowed in the first week
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months before a required 3-month break
Facial hair must permit fit testing as part of compliance requirements
Parking is available for $15/day or $70/month

Requirements
Active MO or compact RN license required
At least 2-3 years of Level I ICU experience required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required
Critical care skills including dysrhythmia recognition, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, and ICP monitoring
Must have experience with care of ventilated patients and Phase I PACU
Comfortable caring for a broad range of acute post-op patients in a high-acuity environment
EPIC charting experience required
Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Applicants with a pending license may be considered
