Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications and requirements
• Applicants should have a state of Michigan RN license and possess an associate degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).

Additional requirements include

• ·Basic Life SupportHealth Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• ·Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (within 1 year)
• Essential Functions
• ·Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• ·Documents patient care given.
• ·Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• ·Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• ·Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• ·Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• ·Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Department/Unit Summary
• Cardiac department has 36 beds. Patient population and diagnosis: Cardiac and CVA patients. Post op day 1-2 CABG, pacemaker patients, Bradycardia, Tachycardia, SVT, AFIB w/RVR or new a fib, acute MIs, PCI patients, Fem/Fem bypass, CEAs and more. We also do step down (IMCU) patients. Nurses are exposed to more critical patients, making it a good bridge to departments such as ED and ICU.
