Location

This position is based in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

The scheduled hours are from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with 4x10's variable shift hours. There are no weekends or holidays required. On-call duty is required for 1 shift per week and 1 weekend every 8 weeks.

Job Description

The Cath Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring safe procedures in the delivery of cardiac services to patients. This role necessitates a strong understanding of technical equipment, compliance with safety protocols, and the ability to assist cardiologists during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and effective delivery of cardiac services.
• Maintain technical equipment and supplies, including x-ray/film processing equipment.
• Accurately obtain, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic data.
• Assist in preparing patients for procedures and maintain their comfort and safety.
• Educate patients regarding procedures before and after.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Adhere to aseptic surgical techniques and universal precautions during procedures.
• Scrub with cardiologists and demonstrate familiarity with their specific preferences.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1-2 years of Cath Lab Technician experience required.
• Experience in Interventional Radiology is highly preferred.
• PCI experience is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA are required.
• Telemetry certification is highly preferred.
• RT license required with a focus on Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology.
• IABP certification must be maintained.
