Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1.5-2 years of diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab experience, ARRT certification, and travel experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based cardiac cath lab specializing in diagnostic and interventional cardiology and endovascular peripheral interventions
• Adult patient population with cases including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, Impella, laser-assisted procedures, and peripheral angiography
• Siemens equipment and Cerner EMR are used; Cerner experience preferred
• 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM or 5x8 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM as needed
• On call required: one weekday per week and one weekend every 4-6 weeks, including holidays
• Travelers may be required to float within scope as needed
• Perform high-technology endovascular procedures under physician direction for diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease
• Responsibilities include monitoring patient hemodynamics, documenting during procedures, scrubbing to assist physicians, and preparing access sites
• Must maintain licensure and education requirements, attend mandatory meetings, and complete competency assessments
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Orientation is held every other Thursday and includes required modules to be completed pre-start
• Permanent employees must wait 2 years after last date worked to be eligible as a traveler
• Applicants must live at least 100 miles from the facility (75-100 mile exceptions considered case-by-case)
• Current employees of the related health system or subsidiaries are not eligible for travel contracts at this facility

Requirements

• Graduation from an approved School of Radiologic Technology
• Minimum of 1.5-2 years experience in a diagnostic cardiac cath lab and interventional procedures
• Travel healthcare experience required
• Current ARRT certification R.T.(R) required; ARRT CI certification preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS required (American Heart Association if specified by unit)
• WV Medical Imaging License required (license required if applicable); may submit with license pending but must post prior to start
• Physical ability to frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs, maximum 50 lbs
• Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, arrhythmia recognition, vascular closure systems, scrub/circulating, and operating Siemens equipment
• Two manager or charge references from within the past two years required for consideration
