Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a hospice position requiring a WA or compact RN license and prior home health or hospice nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Position based in a hospice setting
• Provides care for hospice patients with end-of-life needs
• Variable evening shifts with a mix of 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts
• May be on-call for night shift phone calls or home visits
• Candidates may float to different units as needed
• Coordinate and manage patient care according to individualized plans and physician orders
• Provide education and instruction to patients and caregivers
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
• Assist with family bereavement services following patient death
• Holiday coverage may be required depending on unit needs
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers must be separated from prior employment within the health system for at least one year
• Fully vaccinated candidates are required; booster not required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license, or proof of application at the time of consideration
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required; BSN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of home health or hospice/end-of-life nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance required upon hire
• Minimum 1 year of Epic experience required
• Experience applying age-specific care principles
