Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN with pediatric experience and FL or compact licensure for a hospital operating room with varied surgical cases and call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital operating room environment
• Care for both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Unit performs a variety of surgical cases including ENT, general surgery, vascular, endovascular, robotics, dental, GYN, ortho, spine, and neurosurgery
• Shift is 12-hour days, Friday through Sunday, 0630A-7P
• On-call required, averaging approximately four times per month including evenings and overnights
• Floating required, with travelers first to float including to sister campuses within 15-20 minutes
• Uses Epic EMR and experience is required or preferred
• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures
• Required to participate in call rotations including both backup and overnight shifts
• Orientation starts on Fridays, including remote onboarding and in-person badge pickup
• Team culture values flexibility, teamwork, and travelers are integrated as core staff
• Strict 50-mile radius rule applies; candidates may not own or cosign property within 50 miles of the facility
• No block scheduling requests are permitted
• All requested time off or schedule adjustments must be declared before contract starts; changes after contract begins are not approved
• First-time travelers are discouraged; prior travel experience highly preferred
• Holiday coverage may be required per unit needs
• Hospital scrubs are typically required

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Minimum two years of recent OR RN experience required
• Pediatric OR experience required
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Nursing degree from an accredited program or five years of experience
• Driver’s license address must match the Board of Nursing records
