Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care by performing various essential services, including accurate data entry for patient registration and insurance verification. Our ideal candidate will exhibit strong judgment and effective communication skills when interacting with patients, families, healthcare professionals, insurance companies, and other stakeholders, all while demonstrating a professional and compassionate demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Exemplify the OneCHRISTUS Competencies of Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering outstanding medical care.
- Accurately enter data regarding charges and patient accounts, register patients, and maintain up-to-date patient information.
- Conduct insurance verification and maintain accurate statistical records.
- Help manage patient appointment schedules, respond to phone inquiries, and ensure providers are informed of any changes while keeping patients informed of their benefits.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the team and improve patient care.
Job Requirements
- Education/Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.
- Experience
- Preferred 1 year of experience in a medical office setting.
- Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
- Must possess Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- BLS certification is required.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
