General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. Responsibilities include greeting Customers, adhering to company standards, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of tasks in all store areas as business needs require and may be assigned additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions

Safety first: practice safe behaviors and maintain a safe shopping environment
Maintain awareness on the sales floor; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions
Treat Customers and Associates with respect; greet Customers, be friendly and professional
Assist Customers: register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions, greet with eye contact and a smile; thank customers at checkout
Provide prompt, courteous responses to Customer inquiries; escalate to Store Leadership when needed
Represent and support the Company brand at all times
Perform cleaning tasks and replenish restroom supplies to maintain clean, organized areas
Maintain professional appearance and dress code
Merchandise optimization: complete daily sizing and recovery to keep store neat and well-presented
Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor following monthly presentation guidelines
Follow Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards
Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise
Follow MOS policies and cash handling procedures
Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps where possible

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, cooperative manner
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments
Physical Requirements/Ada

Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers as required
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time
Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop
Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds
Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies
Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds
