Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery
• Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D), Obstetrics Nursing

• Setting: Community Hospital
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/19/2025 – End: 12/19/2025)
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• On-Call: 3 night call shifts (4-hour blocks) per six-week schedule
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990-$2130
• Free Parking

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (1.5 years accepted with Level I or travel nurse experience)
• Active Registered Nurse license in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain (Connecticut nursing license)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
• Experience with electronic charting systems (Epic preferred)
• One professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Not accepting local candidates (must be >75 miles from facility)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Triage and provide care for obstetrical patients in a busy Labor & Delivery unit
• Utilize External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM)
• Maintain central lines (CVC/PICC) and manage insulin drips
• Circulate and recover C-section patients
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and adhere to isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Support facility births (100-200/month) and provide care for low-risk obstetric patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Complete required modules and orientation prior to start
