Position Summary

The Produce Clerk supports daily store operations by delivering excellent customer service and ensuring fresh produce displays are well-stocked, clean, and visually appealing. Under the direction of the Produce Manager, this role involves assisting customers, stocking and rotating perishable items, and maintaining cleanliness in the produce department to meet company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and helpful customer service in the produce department.

• Stock, clean, and rotate produce displays to ensure freshness and quality.

• Monitor and maintain product levels, ensuring displays are full and appealing.

• Follow company standards for sanitation, safety, and food handling.

• Assist customers with product selection and inquiries.

• Perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) and work on your feet for extended periods.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Follow direction from Produce Manager and perform additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and memos.

• Ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively with customers and team members.

• Strong problem-solving and common-sense reasoning skills.

• Physical ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 45 lbs., and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

• Commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.

• Retail Management Certificate.

Work Environment

This role is performed in a fast-paced grocery store environment with frequent physical activity including standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting.
