Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a cardiac-focused unit, requiring a SC or compact RN license and 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiac-focused Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week
• Care for adult patients with cardiac conditions and general Med/Surg needs
• Uses Cerner EMR system; Cerner experience required
• No floating, call, or on-call responsibilities noted
• Provides competent, efficient patient care and completes accurate initial and ongoing assessments
• Responsible for admitting assessments and age-appropriate care across the lifespan
• Adheres to hospital policy, regulatory requirements, and applicable standards of care
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, with at least one from the most recent employer
• Compliance with hospital’s COVID and Flu vaccination policies required
• Scrub or dress code requirements not specified

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg nursing experience in a U.S. hospital required
• Current AHA certifications in BLS and ACLS required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) NCI with Advanced Physical Skills Training certification required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• BSN highly desired but not required
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
