Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR, Cath, or EP experience and a valid CA license for a busy interventional radiology unit.

Responsibilities

Work in an interventional radiology department specializing in a variety of vascular and non-vascular procedures
Procedures include CVC placement, nephrostomy, abscessograms, fistulograms, embolizations, cholecystogram tubes, and peripheral/abdominal vascular cases
Equipment includes Philips C-arm and Siemens bi-plane systems, with use of PACS and ultrasound
Day shift schedule with 4x10 hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Call required 10-14 shifts per month with rotating weekends
On-call team includes 1 technologist and 2 RNs
Duties include participating in complex IR procedures, maintaining sterile fields, operating specialized imaging equipment, and supporting patient safety during interventions
Team consists of 2-3 technologists during normal operations
First-time travelers will be considered for this position
No RTO allowed within the first two weeks of assignment, and all requested time off must be submitted in advance
Local candidates accepted at the same rate
Pre-assignment modules are required and will be delivered via transcript
Return staff eligibility determined on a case-by-case basis

Requirements

Current ARRT(R), BLS, ACLS, Fluoroscopy Permit, CA CRT, and valid CA state license required if applicable
Minimum of 1 year experience in interventional radiology (experience from Cath or EP may be combined), 2 years preferred
Proficiency in vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, TIPS, and central venous access
Experience with Philips and Siemens equipment required
Accurate monitoring, equipment setup, site access prep, sterile technique, and room circulation skills necessary
References required for consideration
