Restaurant Cashier

Job Title

Under direct supervision, performs work of routine to moderate difficulty in receiving and accounting for money and in clerical work involved in the keeping of financial records. Spanish language proficiency preferred.

The Marion County Treasurer's Office bills, collects, invests, and distributes property taxes and provides financial analysis related to these functions. Position Responsibilities

• Collects fees and payments (i.e., cash, checks, money orders) for certificates, licenses, and/or other documentation; prepares receipts for funds received.
• Waits on persons who wish to make payments, pay bills, and/or other fees, prepares receipt for customer.
• Obtains information from customers relative to services requested.
• Checks forms and documents for completeness and accuracy, obtains missing information.
• May balance cash drawer to computer system totals.
• Reconciles any differences.
• Prepares bank deposits.
• May perform a variety of clerical and receptionist duties, such as typing, filing answering phones, taking messages, etc.
• Logs fund receipts, tabulates and prepares numerical data for daily transaction reports.
• Performs other related duties of a comparable level/type as required.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma and six months of general clerical or public contact experience.

Incumbant will follow established policies and procedures.
