Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist specializing in Echocardiography with prior travel experience and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a non-invasive cardiology unit (EKG department)
• Performs echocardiography procedures on a diverse patient population
• Average daily caseload is 12-15 studies
• Work schedule is three 12-hour day shifts per week, Friday through Sunday, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including call responsibilities
• Level 3 trauma setting
• First day orientation includes department overview and observational study
• Subsequent training involves hands-on equipment and probe use under preceptor supervision
• Second orientation day includes performing studies on nursing units with preceptor support
• For weekend assignments, a staff member will accompany the traveler on the first weekend shift
• No academic teaching hospital experience is required

Requirements

• Current BLS certification required
• At least 2-3 years of ultrasound experience and a minimum of 1 year of experience in echocardiography
• Prior travel assignment experience is required
• License required if applicable
