RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 48 hour guaranteed hours per week

• Work on a 36-bed medical-surgical unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5

• Required to work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block

• Float over core staff as needed

• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS

• Dress code: Navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue scrubs

• Use Meditech documentation system

• Work with equipment including PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lift, Broda Chairs, Alaris IV Pumps

• Perform basic patient assessments and care for wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes

• Care for stroke and seizure patients, some requiring dialysis or PCA pumps

• Handle post-operative procedures including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries and wound vacs

• Heparin is the only drip medication used on unit

• Provide bedside shift report and perform safety checks every 1-2 hours

• Follow HAI prevention protocols including CVC and Foley monitoring

• Participate in fall prevention measures

• Complete 100% medication scanning including controlled substances

• Unit staffing includes secretary daily and PRN techs
