Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a Home Health position with at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in home health, serving geriatric and middle-aged adults with no pediatric caseload
• Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, pulmonary, diabetes, and other conditions
• Daily caseload consists of 5-6 home health visits per day
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with approximately every 6th weekend and 2 holidays required, no call duties
• Epic is the charting system used and Epic experience is required
• Position does not require floating to other facilities
• Scrubs are provided as part of the dress code
• Main responsibilities include providing PT assessments and treatments in patient homes, setting patient-centered goals, and supervising PTAs
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering excellent quality care
• First-time travelers may be considered following an interview
• Return staff must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 7 days of requested time off are allowed per 13-week contract; no RTO allowed during the first week
• Onboarding includes orientation with a preceptor and required modules
• Allied travelers can stay up to 12 months and must take a 6-month break after, while standard travelers may stay 18 months and must take a 3-month break thereafter
• Large office parking area available

Requirements

• Current PT license required for the state of practice; license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of recent, relevant physical therapy experience in home health
• BLS certification required
• Valid MO license or compact license required at time of consideration for Missouri; Illinois license required at time of consideration for Illinois
• Epic EMR experience required
• Demonstrated independence, strong case management skills, organization, patient-centered focus, and supervisory skills
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
